EDIT: There will only be two rounds: prelims and finals. The top 10 in prelims will advance to finals. We apologize for the change.

EDIT 2: We will have two age groups: Group 1 for ages 5 – 13 and Group 2 for ages 14 and above. Group 1 will only compete with competitors in group 1 (and same for group 2).

Group 1 will have 20 minutes to take a 20-question test. Group 2 will have 20 minutes to take a 30-question test. The top 5 in each age group will advance to the final round.

How it works

1.       Preliminary | March 27 (12:45 PM-1:30 PM PDT)

  1. 30/20 questions on Philippians
    1. Multiple-choice
    2. 30 minutes for 30/20 questions
    3. Online test on Classmarker
    4. Closed-book
  2. Take in Zoom from 12:45 PM-1:30 PM PDT
  3. The pre-test page on Classmarker will ask for:
    1. Name
    2. Email

2.       Finals | March 27 (1:40 PM-2:30PM PDT)

  1. Top 5 scores in prelims advance (for each division)
  2. Questions
    1. Group 1 (5 – 13 years old)
      1. 20 Questions
        1. 5 short-answer
        2. 5 multiple-choice
        3. 10 buzzers
    1. Group 2 (14&+ years old)
      1. 30 Question
        1. 6 short-answer
        2. 7 multiple-choice
        3. 15 buzzers
  3. Held in Zoom (everyone can watch)

 3. Prize

  1. First place – $20 gift card
  2. Second place – $10 gift card
  3. Third place – $5 gift card


Every official Bay Area Scriptorium test is closed book. That means, you may not use a Bible or any other resource, whether online or physical. Nothing test-related (i.e. regarding test content) may be discussed with any person until the competition is over (after March 27th). There will be an appeals form following the test that MAY NOT be shared until March 28th. Violation of any rules may result in disqualification. The entire competition makes use of the honor system, which means that if a violation of rules or something unfair is done, you won’t encounter many obstacles. Therefore we ask that everyone maintain fairness and play according to the rules.
